World Champion 2005*2006*2007*2008*2009

2009 began with a bang for Gooitzen. Unexpectedly shipped to Raleigh N. Carolina in March for an early start to the show season. He was shown at the Raleigh Spring Premier Show to a blue ribbon in the Open Friesian Pleasure class. Annika Bruggeworth and Gooitzen returned in the Open Pleasure Championship and won that. Though the show proved to be an exhibition it was the start of a stellar and undefeated season! Next up was the UPHA Spring Premeir where he was thrown into a contest of 8 top Friesians and bested them all in the Open Friesian Pleasure $1500 Jackpot.
There were three classes back to back at Devon so Annika chose the Friday night's Amateur Friesian Pleasure to get started and the Open Friesian Championship on Staurday night. All five Friesians showed in each of the two and Gooitzen won both of the competitions. What a wonderful Horse Show. Friesian Season held their annual Devon dinner and cocktail buffet party Thursday evening.
Syracuse International was a nicely, managed horse show with a fine turn out of Friesians. Gooitzen and Annika won both the Amateur Friesian claseses and won the $1500 purse again! They also won the Drawing for $5000!
The next horse show Friesian Season attended was the Children's Benefit Horse Show. The Friesian turn-out was light with just three. Gootz won both his two undersaddle classes as well.
The previous year, Annika Bruggeworth took Gooitzen home from the show to the new Siren Song Stable located at her home in Mays Landing, New Jersey. This was the start of an undefeated streak that culminated in 29 consecutive winning rides!Annika attributes the success to total management of Gooitzens regiman, supplements and practice. The first horse show for Siren Song Stable was the Octoberfest show in Mid-October of 2008. The Friesian turn-out was perhaps the most competitive group of the entire season, The 8 horses in the undersaddle class were stronger than any other class of the season. In fact, they were more competitive than the Finalsthis year or last. There were five Friesians in the In Hand class and Gooitzen won it for the 3rd year in a row. He also won the 8 horse qualifier and bested the group in thed Championship as well.
The 2008 World Championship show in St Louis was the final appearance for the Friesians of Friesian Season. Gooitzen fan Teakesyl was entered in the Amateur Park class this year based on his energetic performance at Octoberfest and it proved to be a sound decision. He won the qualifier and was victorious in the Championship as well. He was shown in hand this year by Annika Bruggeworth and Kim Deola to a win in the Amateur Handler Geldings class. He was the reserve in a wonderful 7 horse Geldings in hand class. Thus ending his five year undefeated streak! There was no shame in it though, as their was nothing but the best Friesians in the class!
Gooitzen has had a banner run in his career, and his successes have been rooted in multiple victories since he first debuted as a three year old.
For example, in 2006, the Eastcoast Championships were hugely successful for Friesian Season. Most notably the successes of Gooitzen fan Teakesyl. Firstly, he was unbeaten in hand overall in 2005, 2006, and 2007. Then he was pitted against the finest crop of Friesians at the eastcoast finals. In the end he showed a record four times in Hand in one day and won every match at the 2006 Finals competition, this included all Stallion, Geldings and Mare entries that had won their respective divisions. When the dust cleared the number of contenders tallyed 23. That same evening in 2006, the energetic Gooitzen was exhibited in a parade of Champions in hand and under saddle by Annika Bruggeworth and soared brilliantly to a victory under saddle. Carson Kressley had shown Gooitzen in hand with flair and confidence and the pair, as always, were fabulous.
2007 was a season of tremendous wins and milestones. Gooitzen fan Teakesyl began the season with at the Lexinton Virginia, Bonnie Blue horse show and won both under saddle classes against some of the best friesians in the east. He was ridden by Carson Kressley. After a multitude of wins for the Friesians of Friesian Season, at Devon, Syracuse International, and Chidrens' Benefit it was off to the exciting World's Championships in St Louis, Missouri. Friesian Season attended the show with one goal in mind....to win in hand and continue the undefeated streak of the past three years. In addition, the other purpose of the long trip was to win the Robin Ut De Warren Memorial trophy again as he had as a three year old in the Open Pleasure division. As expected, Gooitzen swept the In hand division but without the Champion of Champions division at this "World Championship" horse show, Friesian Season had to be content with the two wins in-hand. Jr. Gelding in hand, and the Amateur Gelding in hand under the guidance of Jeff Ramey. The culmination of the 2007 World's Championship was the hotly contested Friesian Under Saddle Open Pleasure class. As planned months in advance, Gooitzen was entered in the Open Championship at that time and again at the Horse show site in a bid to win the trophy. After initially winning the Junior class handily with owner Annika Bruggeworth aboard, Gooitzen fan Teakesyl came back with Jan Lukens for the Open class, seeking more competition. The team of Jan Lukens and Gooitzen fan Teakesyl were attempting to duplicate the feat they had accomplished when he was a 3 year old which was sweeping the Open division as a Junior horse at the first, unified and largest World Championship in 2005. When the smoke cleared. Gooitzen fan Teakesyl was called out as the winner of a highly competitive class of 7 top Friesian contenders. In his last year as a Junior horse he was named the winner of the Open Friesian Championship of the 2007 World Championships.
2009 was absolutely the pinnacle of performance for the prolific gelding. The count to 29 consecutive rides began the previous March and ended in St. Louis Missouri by winning theWorld's Champion Open Pleasure Friesian class. With six tough competitors in the class consisting of four male Trainers and two female Amateurs, the competition was fierce. In retrospect , all the horses were contenders, but only one stayed on his feet every step. Upon review the overriding that occurred by most in that class may have proved to be their undoing as Gooitzen fan Teakesyl has not broken out of a gait for the past five years. Consistancy, manners , animation and overall turn-out enabled Gooitzen fan Teakesyl to win the class. After all. it was a pleasure class, a fact forgotten in the heat of battle. Gooitzen captured the elusive Robin Ute De Warren Memorial Trophy for the third time!
