Gooitzen fan Teakesyl has done it again! He remains undefeated in his third Finals and World Championship competition, Under saddle as well as In Hand as a 3, 4 and 5 year old . This grand gelding is "Simply the Best"!
In 2006, the Eastcoast Championships were hugely successful for Friesian Season. Most notably the successes of Gooitzen fan Teakesyl. Firstly, he was unbeaten in hand overall in 2005, 2006, and 2007. Then he was pitted against the finest crop of Friesians at the eastcoast finals. In the end he showed a record four times in Hand in one day and won every match at the 2006 Finals competition, this included all Stallion, Geldings and Mare entries that had won their respective divisions. When the dust cleared the number of contenders tallyed 23. That same evening in 2006, the energetic Gooitzen was exhibited in a parade of Champions in hand and under saddle by Annika Bruggeworth and soared brilliantly to a victory under saddle. Carson Kressley had shown Gooitzen in hand with flair and confidence and the pair, as always, were fabulous.
2007 was a season of tremendous wins and milestones. Gooitzen fan Teakesyl began the season with at the Lexinton Virginia, Bonnie Blue horse show and won both under saddle classes against some of the best friesians in the east. He was ridden by Carson Kressley. After a multitude of wins for the Friesians of Friesian Season, at Devon, Syracuse International, and Chidrens' Benefit it was off to the exciting World's Championships in St Louis, Missouri. Friesian Season attended the show with one goal in mind....to win in hand and continue the undefeated streak of the past three years. In addition, the other purpose of the long trip was to win the Robin Ut De Warren Memorial trophy again as he had as a three year old in the Open Pleasure division. As expected, Gooitzen swept the In hand division but without the Champion of Champions division at this "World Championship" horse show, Friesian Season had to be content with the two wins in-hand. Jr. Gelding in hand, and the Amateur Gelding in hand under the guidance of Jeff Ramey. The culmination of the 2007 World's Championship was the hotly contested Friesian Under Saddle Open Pleasure class. As planned months in advance, Gooitzen was entered in the Open Championship at that time and again at the Horse show site in a bid to win the trophy. After initially winning the Junior class handily with owner Annika Bruggeworth aboard, Gooitzen fan Teakesyl came back with Jan Lukens for the Open class, seeking more competition. The team of Jan Lukens and Gooitzen fan Teakesyl were attempting to duplicate the feat they had accomplished when he was a 3 year old which was sweeping the Open division as a Junior horse at the first, unified and largest World Championship in 2005. When the smoke cleared. Gooitzen fan Teakesyl was called out as the winner of a highly competitive class of 7 top Friesian contenders. In his last year as a Junior horse he was named the winner of the Open Friesian Championship of the 2007 World Championships.
In a strange twist, Gooitzen has begun to train for Equitation. The highly intelligent and responsive horse has shown an aptitude for this pursuit and Annika Bruggeworth is working on patterns and lead changes on the willing superstar. Look for Gooitzen to show off his skills in 2008.
